Review of The rods speak for themselves. Here is some background on the product I have complete satisfaction and confidence in! Laguna's
custom rods are offered in an array of
lengths and actions-I fish a 6'6 Texas Wader I and II. Each are built to your personal specs (wraps, personalizations, guides, handles, grips-the whole nine!). Each
built by the hands of Jeff Neu, Danny Neu, and Steve Osborn-all within the Neu brothers' shop in Hempstead
Texas. The Texas Wader I is a sensitive rod with enough backbone to set the hook on whopper redfish. I like the rod when I am typically throwing soft plastics, small topwaters, with the occasional super spook or corky. The Texas Wader II is my go-to when trophy trout fishing. The rod has more backbone and less whip to allow working slow sinking lures, big topwaters, and other baits I really work the heck out of.
And for the most common question: "Does braided line make noise or feels rough running through them?" No, however it will if it is new (out of the box) braided line-new braided line will always make noise or feel rough at first. Laguna Rods Advertisement
Personalization Laguna's Inshore Series is the newest line for Laguna Rods. The line of rods is a more affordable alternative to the ultra-high quality guides/blanks/etc. They feel freakishly similar to the custom line. It is Laguna's way of reaching to anglers who cannot necessarily afford the custom line but want to fish with a stick that they can really have confidence in and have the feel of a custom Laguna. I use them quite often and my clients and friends really like them as well.
Break it? A call to the shop will get you taken care of. Danny Neu, Jeff Neu, and Steve Osburn build the rods by hand and stand by their product and as a Laguna Rods Pro-Teamer I am more than confident with Laguna's product! Watch the bend I put on the rod as I horse in a redfish from salty waters of Port Mansfield.
